Before
- Kitchen wasn’t too bad to begin with but the customer wanted it remodeled anyway. Note the low, small, window; the independent stove-top (with vent hood too low) and oven; the recessed ceiling lighting.
After
- New oven and stove and vent hood (at appropriate height), enlarged window, oak cabinets, ceiling completely replaced and new lighting.
Our customer was thrilled with her remodeled kitchen; which is always personally rewarding for me. She loves to bake and entertain family and friends, so the kitchen is a frequent hub of friendly gatherings and warm memories. Now, with the quality oak cabinets and improved kitchen layout, she’s happier than ever with her favorite room.
We removed the old, independent, stove top and wall oven and replaced them with a modern single-unit range and matching vent hood. This freed up some counterspace and brought the appliances up to 21st century standards. We also reduced a wall and removed some dead space to install a longer breakfast bar with a return which doubles as a very handy prep and serving area.
Another dramatic improvement was the lighting. The old kitchen was entirely lit by 16 fluorescent lights hidden above diffusers in a suspended ceiling. We replaced all those lights with a single 2-tube fluorescent fixture that matched the cabinets and installed low wattage puck lights under the cabinets to light up work spaces from a better angle.
